Bit O' Philosophy

The point and ideal of a democratic government is participation. If you don't have civic partipation, you have either an empty dream of civilization or a balkanized system of law that no one cares about. If people don't care about what you're doing, you're either over-doing it, or you haven't helped them see the added advantage that civil order gives, much like how forcing the protocols of the internet allows freer and more participation and thereby personal investment -- becauase everyone is treated the same and the system is made with sufficient wisdom to not be a barrier.
