The Metagovernment is the human governance system created by this project. It is described by the Main Page but will not be fully embodied there until Metascore is created and implemented to run it.

The Metagovernment is in the startup phase, and its current function is to oversee the development of Metascore software. Later functions may include updating, maintaining, and administering Metascore, and acting as "higher" level of government, resolving disputes and discrepancies between other governments.

The philosophy of this project is best described as open source governance. For projects acting on similar principles (mostly local or national movements) see related projects.
